Drain after appendectomy?

Oh yes it would be obvious. You would have a small tube coming out of one of your incisions with a bulb shaped holding area. It is called a JP drain. You probably had one after surgery and it was removed but the nurse did not see that in the paperwork since discontinuing a drain is so routine. If you had a drain they would have had to give you instructions on how to empty it and keep your incision clean. I hope you are recovering well. Get better soon. Take care.
