Is it OK to use 7.62x51mm NATO M118LR rounds with the M13 link?

I am asking this because I heard that the M118LR round was made to be used more for sniper rifles. I know you CAN use that round with the M13 link, but is it recommended? If not, can you please tell me what specific round should be used with the M13 link? Thanks!
