I have been reading Jacqueline Carey's books and was hoping for some recs-?

I have read/am reading through the three trilogies of Carey and love them, especially the arcs about Kushiel's Chosen and the Treason Heir's stories. Does anyone have any reccommendations about equally good, inetresting, intriguing and adult fantasy novels? I'm not opposed to sci-fi. I've read a lot of fantasy books (such as those by David Eddings, Garth Nix, and Terry Goodkind) but I think Carey's books are works of genious and have a level of maturity and intrigue that can sometimes be missing from books aimed at a wider audience. Anyone have any suggestions? Please!
