Could we increase church attendance by reforming church service?

Let's face it, it was never fun as a child to dress up and go to church and sing slow boring hyms in monotone, and it's equally not fun as an adult. Looking to the black baptist church experience, could we learn maybe a tip or two about how to increase church attendance (and retain it with youth) by promoting more up beat songs, the freedom to dance, shouting in agreement during service, and actively encouraging the congregation to involve themselves in the sermon?
