Is my dog funny or what lol?

We have a Daschund and we got her when my youngest little girl was born. She is a really good dog, and she is very protective of Jessica, my four year old. Jessica got into trouble yesterday, just being difficult. She was backtalking and refused to stay in timeout. I took Jessica to her room to give her a , and little did I know the dog was sleeping under the bed. I laid Jessica across my lap and gave her a swat on the hiney and the dog came out from under the bed and bit my ankle. She is so so protective of Jessica. I told the dog no, and tried to keep from laughing. I gave Jessica a couple of more swats and Dixie barked at me. It was hilarious. I just thought this was so funny.
