Is this what is happening in your town? what are you going to do about it?

back in the early nineties they did a similar thing in the city i worked for back then .. Gave all the dept heads a 19% raise and froze all raises of any kind for five years then started reducing the crews through attrition and people retiring . finally they got to the shop which i was a supervisor for .. I got sent to another dept for less money and finally quit and got another job i still have .. Now for a lot of the work we used to do in house in the city they hire private contractors to do and said it saved money.. Personally i think the council had a deal with the contractors and got kickbacks but i can't prove it. All i could do is watch it happen and move on when it happened to me.. This situation will go the same way i fear .. Unless you can get control of it now and nip it in the bud ..
