Unfortunately, unless you had it in writing that you would be receiving the permanent position, there is nothing you can do about it. Verbal agreements between employer and employee are a grey area; they may have said you could get the perm position, but in a civil court they just have to say you were hired for temporary, and that would be it. The best thing that you can do is move on to another job, and take this lesson you learned with you.
