What are the factions of the Libyan rebels?

I'm curious as to who are these rebels we are helping in Libya. What sort of factions do they consist of and who are the leaders of it? Do you think this could be like the 1980's in the Afghan Soviet War where we helped the rebels fight the soviets off and than we became enemies; years later? Thank you for your help.
